All kinds of original music works (jingle, generic music, film and documentary musics, original compositions... etc.) are being registered and taken under the protection of MSG.Musical Work Owners Group (MSG) is an occupation union that gives the usage right and license to the music users for the work of the member work owners (composer, word writer, editor) and collects their financial rights and distributes it to the member work owners.

Having officially constituted by the Ministry of Culture on August 2, 1999; MSG works in duplication (mechanical) and representation/ broadcast (performing) fields. No matter how the music is performed (it could be by CD / cassette-Radio-TV- Video or karaoke), the MSG license is a legal necessity. (F.S.E.K law numbered 5846) MSG License gives the legal usage rights to music users in Turkey or in any other place in the world for millions of variety of music.

MSG and similar occupational institutions exist in every country of the world. MSG protects its member music work owner's rights from advertising jingles to symphonies, from pop music to folk music type of music works; by means of many institutions in all over the world and in the meanwhile, it also represents the rights of all foreign productions in Turkey to a great extent.

MSG members are formed of composers, word writers and music editors.
